Sadly, some of the 4×4 roads that crossed the trail invited people who don’t believe in Leave No Trace.

After what seemed like an eternity up of ridge lines and crests, the trail started a long descent toward the last trail town before Oregon: Seiad Valley

I addition to having good water sources all the way down, the canyon provided a good deal of forest cover to avoid hiking directly in the Sun. As a bonus, some nice Fall colors along the way.

I did have the option to push 3 more miles that day to reach a forest service campground, but I ended up stopping before committing to that stopping point. Since I probably will be resupplying and getting a real meal at Seiad Valley, I didn’t have to push myself to get closer to the town.

Mile 1634.8 to 1648.3 – 13.5 miles total hiked on PCT
