So coming up short on day 4, meant I would be getting to Mount Laguna midday. I started thinking about staying at the Lodge or the tiny house hostel.

When I accidentally ripped my tent’s rain fly, that made some time to fix it off trail a possible choice for me.

Getting some real food would be nice too.

What’s the first four days being pretty hot for the most part you think I would be happy that it was a little colder this day. Being at a higher elevation and the general weather pattern changing meant it was windy and it was cold.

I kind of missed the heat at that point.

Oh well, I layered up my clothing and headed to Mount Laguna. It was uneventful until I accidentally backtracked on the trail about a half mile after a rest.

Oops.

Sometimes the trails aren’t obvious which direction you’re going if the sun is not out.

Fixing that too I made my way to the 43 mile spot on the PCT and then went into Laguna. In an addition to getting a motel room I also bought a whole bunch of rest for the next 40 or so miles.

Not cheap.

Unfortunately, at that point I found out that the only café in town closed at 2 p.m. on Wednesdays, which is what day it was. 😮

I tried to get down in time, but was too late. I’d have to settle for frozen pizza and breakfast at the cafe in the morning.

Sigh. I did my laundry and fixed my tent plus a few other fixes.

Good night.
