Okay 4 days and counting.
Fly to San Diego on Thursday evening.
Friday I’ll be getting used to the heat by sitting by the pool and WFSD (work from San Diego).
Saturday, shuttle to the Southern Terminus.
Start Hiking Northward Mid-day after pics at the southern terminus and border wall.
If it’s too hot, stop at CLEEF (mile .07) and get out of the sun. 😀
It is getting cooler down there, but the big drop isn’t until Monday according to the weather reports.
Fill up on water at the 4.4 trickle and them at the 14 mile water cache.
Camp somewhere before Morena Village.

I’d do status and photo updates when I can, but don’t expect minute by minute reports. I want to enjoy the trail, not spend all the time writing about it.

So, my challenge for this year is to hike the PCT starting from the Mexican Border!

How far will I get? We will have to see. Anywhere from 1 to 2650 miles. But I’d be happy just getting to Walker Pass (PCT mile 652) so I can complete all the California sections from A (Mexican Border – PCT Mile 0) to K (Donner Summit – PCT Mile 1157.1).

I’ve done a good deal of planning and have my gear and resupplies (mostly) ready to go.

I’m be starting at the end of March and will be posting my progress (or lack thereof) here. Probably a lot briefer messages than my usual book length reports done way after the trek is over).

Wish me luck, because I’ll need it.
