Mostly this day was to get to Warner Springs and resupply with a shipped box and what I could buy at the resource center and gas station store.

But the hike there was worth it.

Halfway to Warner Springs, I discovered that my action camera and tripod were missing. I had set them up to film sunrise and it looked like I had left them behind. I even posted on some pct forums and the Far Out app in hopes that someone might find it and bring it to Warner Springs. It was too far to turn back at that point.

There was this jumble of old rocks and boulders that was called Eagle Rock. I have no idea why…

Really, can’t see how it got its name…

Ah! Now I see it! 😀

From the right angle, it looks like an Eagle with its wings spread out. It was a well-known site to see on the PCT as you near Warner Springs.

The oddest thing that happened when I got close to Warner Springs was it started to look a little bit like the East Bay back home. A lot of the brown fields giving way to Oak trees and bushes looked a lot like Mount Diablo.

Once I got to the resource center I could get some;

  • Dehydrated Meals
  • My shipped resupply package from the post office
  • Coca-Cola
  • Ice Cream
  • Trail Snacks and candy (way too much of this 😛 )
  • Clothes washing
  • Half a shower (just my upper body and hair)
  • Recharge my batteries

And….

While unpacking my backpack, I found the camera and tripod inside my food bag. Not where I would normally put them. Oops… 😀 But I was glad I found them.

Started backing up the movies and photos on the camera. 😅

I had planned only to spend 2 to 3 hours there, but then I learned out some burritos that would be delivered around 5 PM and I could order one. It would shorten my mileage for the day, but what the hell. 😊

And back drinking a half mile in the trail to camp along the stream.
