In what may be my last major warmup/training hike before leaving for Tanzania, I decided to do a moderate hike in Briones Regional Park.
It was a simple loop along the Briones Ridge Trail. Not too long (only 8 miles), but a decent amount of elevation to climb (1,000 feet) over the course of the loop.
Did see a real tiny baby rattlesnake along the trail.
2 weeks to go. Along with my daily bike rides to get to BART (commuter train), I may do a real basic hike next weekend to keep my body moving in anticipation of the big treks I’ll ask it to survive.
