Mile 1426.2 to 1438.8 – 12.6 miles total hiked on PCT

Unfortunately, this day was a long climb up through the forest. It wasn’t particularly steep, but a continuous climb does get to you at times and being a forest is good to keep the sun off your head, but it does get a little repetitive. I did get a glimpse of Mount Lassen once that morning.

Oh! A view!

Mount Lassen is hiding behind another mountain, but it’s there.

No sight of Mount Shasta.

Oh! There’s Mount Shasta! 😄

Because of private land ownership, I had some restrictions on where I could camp. So for a second night in a row, not much of a view.

Only saw three people today. Two slack packers and a driver to drive them somewhere. Slack Packers generally hike with just a day pack and either get picked up and dropped off at the beginning and the end of the day, or have their camping equipment brought to them by someone else. It’s a way to see some of the trail if you can’t carry a big pack.
