Mile 369.4 to 379.5 – 10.1 miles total hiked
So I ended up taking a zero day after reaching highway 2 and getting a ride down to Wrightwood. Partly because I saw Mount Baden-Powell. 9,383 feet, but unlike other high peaks, it’s RIGHT ON the PCT (well about 260 feet of extra climbing to reach the peak). No way to not climb it if you wanna do the complete PCT.
But I also needed to go through all my reapply packages that I didn’t get at Cajon Pass.
The hike was pretty straight forward. 5 miles hike from Inspiration Point to Vincent Gap.
Then a very steep 4 miles and 2400 foot ascent to the summit of Mt Baden-Powell.

Just when I thought it was over, I turned the corner on the last switchback and this greeted me:

Always one last gotcha on steep hikes like this.

But I successfully rested the top and celebrated. What a view.

Since it was past 5pm due to the later start and the hard climb, I almost camped at the summit. But there wasn’t much wind protection, so I pushed in a couple more miles.
