Kili will be amazing. I hiked it in 2011 (Machame route up/Mweka route down). Trip of a lifetime, for certain. I’d never hiked before and this was my 1st trip of this kind and I was hooked. I was fortunate to hike with an amazing group of MS and Parkinson’s climbers – incredibly inspirational. All the best to you!
Have you selected a trekking company?

You started hiking with Kilimanjaro first? Even I worked my way up to Whitney by doing some smaller mountains. 🙂
Haven’t picked a trekking company yet.

Yup. Started with Kili lol. A bit of “ignorance is bliss” possibly. Was so determined to be a support for my hiking partner with MS that I did my best to make sure I was prepared.
Just returned from a great hiking trip – the Tour du Mont Blanc (TMB). Hiked 105 miles through France, Italy and Switzerland. Over 27K feet of elevation gain over 9 days. Incredible scenery, food and company
