Mile 663.3 to 675.3 – 12.14 miles total hiked

The day started off pretty good. I filled up on water and then started to climb up to the next challenge.

It’s funny what memory does to you. I have always thought of the first climb from Walker Pass as the worst of this section.

I was very wrong…

The approach looks easy enough.

But after filling up on water, you start to see twists and turns that don’t seem to make much sense.

But I forged on and took it step-by-step.

It was late afternoon, but I made it to the saddle where I had camped the last time I was up up here.

Gorgeous view, but I had my eyes set on an even more gorgeous view. One benefit of redoing the session that you’ve already hiked before is you know where the good campsite with the red views are. One mile later…

It was very windy, but I think I liked what I saw that evening.

Sunrise should be pretty good too. 😜
