Mile 802.7 to 812.6 – 9.9 miles total hiked on PCT

So, the climb up to Pinchot Pass was simple but long and seemed to never end.

PINCHOT PASS 12,127 feet!!!

With the main goal for the day complete, I then had to make my way down through the basin towards the next major pass: Mather Pass

Fortunately, the descent and the limb between these passes wasn’t that bad. You could also almost see the entire route from one pass to the other.

But I knew I could reach Mather in the same day, but wanted to get as far as possible.

So, instead of stopping at one of the picturesque lakes, I continued down into the forest and camped at roughly the halfway point.
