Mile 879.8 to 892.6 – 12.8 miles total hiked on PCT

SILVER PASS 10,778 feet!!

For once, one of the Sierra Nevada passes wasn’t a grueling climb. It is an odd pass in that it’s not the high point of the rich it is on in the PCT has to climb up over another ridge to get to the next basin.

A nice area with a half dozen or so lakes. Two years ago, I had camped at one of these lakes, but this year it was still before noon, so there was no reason to stop.

So I made myself down to the Meadows below and follow the Creek down the canyon to Tulley Hole. There, I made my way up of a set of easy switchbacks.

Once at the top, I was able to camp next to Lake Virginia, something I wanted to do on the previous two hikes, passed it, but but it was never the right time of day to stop. This time it was, and it was a great place to camp for the night. As the picture is below can test too.

It may be a long day, but I should be able to get to Red Meadows the next day.
