Mile 1211.1 to 1223.4 – 12.3 miles total hiked on PCT + Half mile from Deer Lake

I have a bad feeling that I might have to hike through the smoke that I know is out there today.

Color from the sunrise was a pretty nice way to start the day.

Then it was back to the PCT and head north.

The next stretch of ridge line oversaw a line of lakes, each with some access to highways. Not directly, so there wasn’t much temptation to return to Sierra city.

After the lakes were behind me, the PCT sneaked this way back-and-forth along the ridge line and up and over some high points.

As the day grew to a close, I identified a nice campsite that’s within on the saddle between two separate valleys so I could have some nice views for the evening.
