Mile 454.5 to 464 – 10 miles total hiked

After reaching Aqua Dulce, I had planned to camp at Serenity’s Oasis in my tent. But by the time I reached the town, I was feeling the need for a bed. Plus, there has been a spike in hantavirus cases as the ‘bubble’ of northbound PCT hikers have caught up to this slow old man. That had me being more careful about washing my hands and where I stay so I started to look for other options.

I had found an Airbnb near Agua Dulce, but repeated reservation request, and messages went unanswered.

In the end, I decided to go to Palmdale and stay out of the hotel. Because of the distance and the cost of taking a Lyft there, it turned into an unexpected zero day.

And of course, for the third time a hotel had a hot tub and it was broken. Figures. 🤕😞
