Mile 1065.2 to 1081.3 – 16.1 miles total hiked on PCT
Not for the first time, I woke up to a great show.

After the show was over, I packed up and headed north along a ridge line towards a rock formation called “The Nipple”.

Ah! “The Nipple” appears.

I don’t see why they called it that. 🤣

After finishing the ridge and seeing Lost Lakes, went through a forest ridge and then descend it into a basin with a big meadow.

Well, that’s the butterflies in the last couple days.

Although it had exhausted me the last time to climb up to Carson Pass was pretty straightforward.

At one point, I had thought of stopping at Carson Pass and camping there. But my progress was so good, I decided to go down to the Carson Pass info center to get some trail magic!

The trail magic was just a can of Coca-Cola and some snacks, but it was a nice rest stop.
The last time I was here, I was ready to abort to Lake Tahoe, but the trail magic was a boost to keep me going on the trail. It was still nice to get this time, but I had no thoughts of aborting this time.
So, after a brief rest, I got back on the trail and headed North.

It would have been great to make it to Showers Lake where I camped last time, but it was getting late and I’d still reach Echo Lakes the next day regardless of where I camped.
So, I found a nice campsite in the meadows and had a pleasant evening.
